TV star Joe Fattorini has joined Berry Bros & Rudd and Fields, Morris & Verdin as its new head of sales for London.

Fattorini was previously director of sales for London at Bibendum and he has also managed accounts for Matthew Clark during his 30-year career in the wine trade.

He has risen to prominence in recent years thanks to his role on The Wine Show, where he has been nicknamed Obi Wine Kenobi.

He replaces Andrew Higgs, who has just left the group.

“It feels very special to join the FMV team,” said Fattorini. “And in London too. The most vibrant and exciting place for wine lovers in the world. The FMV team is industry leading and the portfolio is the best there is.

“Having filmed at Berry Bros. & Rudd for the second series of The Wine Show, it feels a bit like a home from home.  Sales is what I do best and when this extraordinary opportunity came up, I didn’t need to be asked to join twice.”

Matt Davies, managing director for Fields, Morris & Verdin and Berry Bros. & Rudd Wholesale, added: “Joe brings considerable trade experience which will be invaluable to both the FMV and BB&R Wholesale channels. I know Joe is looking forward to working with our impressive portfolio of producers and getting out there and catching up with customers – both old and new. We look forward to him joining the team.”

He begins the new role on June 18.
