Jeroboams has announced a significant expansion of its Champagne selection with twelve new grower Champagnes, all from small estates.

As part of this, Daniel Moreau, Fumey-Tassin, Paul Clouet, Domaine Lagille, Bérêche et Fils, and Thierry Fournier all join the portfolio, alongside long-term producer Georges Vesselle.

Regarding the expansion, Jeroboams explained that it intends to introduce consumers to a broader range of Champagne styles and expressions.

According to the business, this comes at a time when consumers are craving authenticity more than ever before.

It also coincides with an increasing number of French growers choosing to make their own Champagne rather than selling to larger houses.

On the individuality of each grower, Jeroboams noted that each brings something unique. Daniel Moreau focuses on spontaneous fermentation, while Fumey-Tassin revives the rare Pinot Blanc Vrai, for example.

Meanwhile, Bérêche et Fils cultivates old vines, and Thierry Fournier “brings Burgundian finesse” through oak ageing.

Peter Mitchell, MW, said: “This new range perfectly embodies what Jeroboams stands for, Champagnes crafted by family-owned domaines with a strong sense of place and provenance.

“If the top wines of the Grandes Marques are perfectly polished, pristine and generally hard to fault, the best grower Champagnes are packed with character and personality. The new power move at a dinner party is to present a grower Champagne that you’re unlikely to find elsewhere.”
