Fine wine merchant Jeroboams has expanded its Australian range with the addition of Yarra Yering in a move that looks to strengthen its coverage of key New World fine wine regions.
The producer, based in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, joined Jeroboams’ agency portfolio this month. The listing will include its estate wines alongside the Warramate and Carrodus ranges.
Founded in 1969 by Dr Bailey Carrodus, Yarra Yering has built a reputation for age-worthy Cabernet and Shiraz blends. Under winemaker Sarah Crowe, the estate continues to produce award-winning wines, with 90 acres under vine and certification from Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
Crowe said: “The UK has always been an important market for Yarra Yering, and this next chapter allows us to present the wines with increased clarity and focus, while continuing to build meaningful relationships across the on and off-trade. We also look forward to re-introducing Warramate, offering a different lens on the vineyard and our approach to Australian fine wine.”
Maggie Macpherson, group buyer at Jeroboams, added: “Yarra Yering has long been one of Australia’s benchmark estates and a producer I’ve personally admired for many years. The wines have such clarity, character and sense of place. It’s a real privilege to now get to work with them directly to continue to build the brand in the UK.”
Macpherson went on to explain how the listing reflects a wider strategy of working more closely with quality focused producers and building a “coherent and sustainable route to market” across the on/off-trades and private clients.
Yarra Yering now sits alongside Jeroboams’ existing Australian producers, including Kaesler (Barossa), Moss Wood and Pierro (Margaret River), Parker Estate (Coonawarra) and Port Phillip Estate (Mornington Peninsula), giving the merchant broader regional and stylistic reach.
