The trade body representing wines from Bordeaux has announced it is launching Bordeaux Day in the UK.

The Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB), will welcome wine industry professionals to Camden House in London, NW1 for the very first Bordeaux Day on May 5, 2020.

Visitors will receive a full update on Bordeaux at seminars throughout the day and have the chance to rediscover “the modernity, quality and diversity” of its wines in dedicated tasting zones.

There will also be Bordeaux Undiscovered, which will be a “unique showcase” of wines from producers seeking representation in the UK; along with the unveiling of the brand-new Bordeaux Hot 50, which is described as a “carefully curated collection of wines selected to appeal to the modern consumer”.

Also at Bordeaux Day there will be an area dedicated to “Green Bordeaux”, which showcases organic, biodynamic and vegan wines; and a Bordeaux Briefing from 11.30am, which will highlight the latest news and statistics from the region.

At 2pm there will be a seminar dedicated to sustainability in Bordeaux.

Allan Sichel, vice president of the CIVB, said: “An exciting wave of innovation is sweeping through Bordeaux.

“I am excited to be able to meet the UK wine trade in May, and to welcome you all to a day of tastings and engaging discussion, offering you the opportunity to fully immerse yourselves in the diversity, versatility and ingenuity of Bordeaux.”
