Graft Wine has ended a long wait to add a port range to its portfolio with a deal to represent the single estate producer Quinta do Infantado in the UK.
The estate was founded in 1816 in Chanceleiros, near Pinhão, and has been in the hands of the Roseira family for six generations.
It became the first grower in Douro to estate-bottle its own port in 1979, a break with tradition that meant it could only sell domestically until a law change in 1986.
The producer farms organically in old, field-blended vineyards, fermenting with native yeasts in lagares, making a style that Graft said favours freshness and phenolic ripeness over high alcohol and heavy extraction.
“Our search for a port producer that reflects our values and commitment to quality has been a long one,” said Graft managing director David Knott. “We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Quinta do Infantado exclusively in the UK.
“They are wines of immense purity made from exceptional vineyard sites.
“The wines show that you can make traditional styles of port with finesse and delicacy.”
The range comprises White, Ruby, Tawny, Tawny 10 Years and Tawny 20 Years NVs, LBV 2021 and Vintage 2015.
