Surrey brewery Hogs Back has expanded its craft beer range with the launch of a seasonal East Coast IPA.

The limited-edition brew is naturally hazy, unfiltered and has an abv of 5.8%. Brewer Miles Chesterman opted for seven different hop varieties: Fuggles, Ekuanot, Calypso, Mosaic, Idaho 7, Mount Hood and Cascade, the latter of which is grown in Hogs Back’s own hope garden.

East Coast IPA is available in cans and sits alongside Hog IPA and Hogstar lager in a new craft can range.

Brewery owner Rupert Thompson said: “The US style of IPA is hugely popular, making East Coast IPA a strong addition to our craft line-up, with a very different taste profile to our Hog IPA.

“As an unfiltered beer, East Coast IPA is packed with flavour and character, but is also a very accessible beer that will be enjoyed by craft aficionados and mainstream beer lovers alike.

“With so much choice for consumers in the beer and cider aisle, a distinctive beer range from a local brewer has strong appeal.  We’re confident that drinkers across the south-east will be enjoying these great summer beers at barbecues and other outdoor drinking occasions over the coming months.”

East Coast IPA has an RRP of £2.25 per 330ml can, or £27 for a case of 12.
