Hallgarten & Novum Wines has added two new wineries to strengthen its Italian wine range.

The new additions are the Soave producer Inama and Abruzzo’s Terre di Civita.

The importer said family-run Inama (pictured) is one of the leading producers in the Veneto region and gives it “multichannel opportunities”, with specific wines in the range suited to independents and fine wine merchants alongside products that already have a presence in the national off-trade.

Winery co-owner Matteo Inama said: “When we first met the team at Hallgarten Wines, we found them to be incredibly supportive and professional, and we are very excited to start this new collaboration in a market which has a great history for Inama.”

Terre di Civita is a small family-run winery in Pollutri that first started making wine under its own label in 2022.

It produces fewer than 8,000 bottles from 3ha of vineyards each year.

Owner Francesco Di Fonzo said: “Becoming a partner to Hallgarten is a significant step forward for us. It means working with people who genuinely understand and value small family wineries.”

Hallgarten buying director Will Winterton said: “These developments in Italy demonstrate our continued commitment to finding the very best producers in each region and bringing wines to the UK market that consumers will have an appetite for.”

A selection of the Inama wines will be available to taste at Hallgarten’s trade-only Snapshots tastings in Birmingham on September 7, Glasgow on September 15, London on September 21 and Cambridge on September 28.
