Hallgarten & Novum Wines has announced an exclusive agreement with two German estates led by renowned winemaker Ernst Loosen: Dr. Loosen from the Mosel and Villa Wolf from the Pfalz.

According to the distributor, the partnership will bring the full ranges of both estates into Hallgarten’s portfolio, with each offering wines across multiple price points.

Both estates are overseen by Ernst Loosen, who Hallgarten described as one of the most celebrated and respected figures in the modern wine industry.

Under Loosen’s leadership, Dr. Loosen combines tradition and innovation with a focus on Riesling. Its dry Grosses Gewächs and Grosses Gewächs Reserve wines are considered standouts.

Meanwhile, Villa Wolf focuses on producing expressive, full-bodied dry Rieslings alongside classic regional varieties, including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer.

On the collaboration, Robert Mathias MW, Hallgarten’s buying director for Germany, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to strengthen our relationship with Ernst Loosen by welcoming these two estates to our portfolio. This represents a huge stride forward for our German portfolio, with what I see as two of the highest quality German wine brands in the market.”

Loosen added: “I am eager to get more visibility for our wines in the UK market via Hallgarten Wines, especially in the on-trade and across all other channels. We look forward to a collaborative working relationship and marketing approach, ensuring that consumers will once again see Riesling as a great, noble variety that can be enjoyed on every occasion.”
