Modern wine merchant Flint Wines has announced it will become the exclusive UK importer of Realm Cellars, one of Napa Valley’s most sought-after producers, with wines available to pre-order from September.

Founded in 2002 and revitalised under proprietor Scott Becker since 2012, Realm has grown from a struggling ‘virtual winery’ into one of Napa’s most collectible names, with estate holdings in Stags Leap District, Pritchard Hill and Coombsville. The portfolio spans single-vineyard bottlings and proprietary blends, including flagship Cabernet Sauvignon-led The Bard.

Flint Wines, which has built a strong Napa Valley portfolio including Continuum Estate, Snowden Vineyards and Grace Family Vineyards, said the addition of Realm marks a significant step in strengthening its fine wine offering.

Beth Pearce MW, Flint’s head of buying, said: “I’ve been hooked on developments at Realm since I first visited in 2021, and think their ruthless commitment to quality, and their long-term vision, suits Flint down to the ground. Their growing list of estate vineyards, combined with sourcing from some legendary sites across Napa, makes them a seriously exciting winery to have in the Flint range.”

Realm’s bottles are also known for their distinctive commissioned label art, which aims to capture the interplay of tradition, craft and storytelling. Its Tempest blend, for example, features artwork by UK artist Richard Twose, reflecting the balance of tension and risk in winemaking.

The partnership continues Flint Wines’ mission to bring terroir-driven, world-class producers to the UK trade and private clients under MD Katy Keating, who joined in 2023. The wines will be available to Flint accounts to taste next month. Accounts include Michelin-starred restaurants, luxury hotels and fine wine specialists such as Hedonism, Fortnum & Mason and Berry Bros. & Rudd.
