Welsh beer producer Tiny Rebel Brewing has confirmed that its team and customers are all safe following a fire near its premises in Newport. However, owners have said they will be temporarily pausing online orders as a result of the disruption.

The fire broke out on Wern Industrial Estate, home to Tiny Rebel, at around 8.50pm on Sunday January 14. Sharing a statement on social media, company owners praised the work of the South Wales Fire & Rescue Service as well as its brewery team who evacuated visitors in the Tiny Rebel brewery bar.

“Because of the fire, we’ve had to pause all of our online orders at the moment,” the statement read. “We’ll let you know when we’re up and running again.” According to the company’s social media, the site was not damaged and the brewery bar has already reopened to continue business as usual.

Tiny Rebel owners also thanked its followers who had sent messages of support following the incident, and said: “It wasn’t just us that’s been affected by the fire. There are other businesses that are also trying to piece things back together after last night and we send our thoughts to them.”

The cause of the fire, which is thought to have originated in the warehouse next to Tiny Rebel’s site, has not yet been confirmed.
