Alliance Wine has announced that Fergal Tynan MW is taking full responsibility for the company following the retirement of Christian Bouteiller, who founded the firm four decades ago.
Appointed managing director of Alliance Wine in 2012, Tynan is now stepping up to take on full executive responsibility as the distributor enters a new chapter.
Having been with Alliance since 2009, the new leader said his long-term vision for Alliance Wine is to focus on service quality by delivering a multi-year investment programme in technology and operations across the UK and Ireland.
Under Tynan’s leadership, Alliance is set to expand its logistics network and on-the-ground sales presence, made possible by the new backing of specialist firm Activequity.
On his expanded role, Tynan said: “Alliance Wine has spent four decades building something special for our customers. We have strong foundations, great momentum and an ambition to set the benchmark for service quality in the premium wine trade.”
Outgoing founder, Christian Bouteiller said, “Alliance Wine has always been about people: the relationships built over many years with our producers, our customers and our team. Fergal knows the premium wine business inside out and has always had a relentless focus on delivering quality of service to all our customers.
“I am delighted that he has secured the backing of partners who share his vision to take Alliance Wine into its most exciting chapter yet.”
