Exton Park Vineyard has named a fresh CEO and chairman as it announces a new chapter for the estate.

Nick Morton will take on the role of CEO, succeeding Robin McMillan, who is retiring after leading the business for four years.

He brings extensive experience in the drinks trade, including roles at Pernod Ricard UK, Berry Bros. & Rudd and The Last Drop Distillers of London. In addition to these positions, he is MD of Glenmor  Consulting Ltd.

Exton Park said that, following an extensive recruitment process, Morton emerged as the unanimous choice.

At the same time, Hugh Sturges will take on the role of chairman, following his informal work with Exton Park over the past two years.

The vineyard said that Sturges brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the luxury wine, spirits and hospitality sectors, including CEO roles at Jeroboams and Berry Bros. & Rudd.

The outgoing CEO, McMillan, said: “Leading Exton Park has been one of the real highlights of my career. Nick and Hugh represent an outstanding leadership partnership and when I hand over in full from October, I leave knowing the business is exceptionally well placed to fulfil its long-term ambitions.”

Morton commented: “It is an enormous privilege to join Exton Park as CEO. Robin and the team have created an exceptional platform from which to build – it’s a truly outstanding wine estate, with an inspiring wine-making philosophy. I look forward to succeeding Robin as steward for its next exciting chapter.”

Sturges added: “I am delighted to be joining the estate from July and look forward to working with Nick and the executive team to continue building a world-class English wine brand.”
