Enotria & Coe is to handle wines from Château Saint Roch, a Roussillon wine estate owned by Jean-Marc Lafage of the region’s Domaine Lafage.

The deal will have no impact on the existing distribution arrangement with Bibendum for the main Domaine Lafage wines.

Saint Roch has 44ha of vineyards in the Agly Valley, mostly planted with old vines across several varieties, including Grenache Blanc, Grenache Noir and Syrah.

The Saint Roch wines are new to the UK and the line-up comprises: Le Vieux Figuier White Organic 2023 (rrp £19.50); Corbarol White Côtes du Roussillon 2023 (rrp £13.30); Tangerina orange wine 2022 (rrp £19.50); and Chimeres Côtes du Roussillon Villages 2020 (rrp £17.75).

Lafage and partner Eliane travelled the world as flying winemakers in the 1990s, working at Gallo in California, Brokenwood and De Bortoli in Australia, and wineries in South Africa, Italy and Spain, before returning to Roussillon to take over the main family estate in the early 2000s. The bought Saint Roch in 2006.

Ants Rixon, managing director at Enotria & Coe, said: “Their commitment to sustainable practices and Jean-Marc’s longstanding winemaking expertise resonates with our mission to offer our customers exceptional quality wines with a real sense of place.”
