Enotria has introduced a Chinese wine to its portfolio, opting to partner up with the Lenz M. Moser-backed Changyu-Moser XV for its first foray into the category.
The distributor will exclusively bring the Ningxia-based producer to the UK market alongside New Chapter, an Austrian project from winemaking scion Moser. Both ranges will be available across the on-trade and indie retail channels.
The move marks a notable step for Enotria as it looks to diversify its portfolio with emerging regions and styles, while reinforcing its premium position.
Phillip White, CEO of Enotria, said the company is “delighted to be partnering with legendary winemaker Lenz M. Moser to distribute his exceptional wines, Changyu-Moser XV and New Chapter, exclusively in the UK”. He referred to both as “pioneering producers in their respective countries”.
Changyu-Moser XV is a collaboration between Chinese wine pioneer Changyu, founded in 1892, and Moser, a 15th-generation Austrian winemaker. Based in Ningxia at 1,100m above sea level, the estate has built a reputation for high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon wines following significant investment, including a €70m winery.
The range spans multiple tiers, from the more accessible Helan Mountain wines through to the Moser Family selection and flagship expressions such as Purple Air. Enotria confirmed that L12, described as China’s most successful icon wine, will join the portfolio later this year.
A key point of difference is the estate’s focus on Cabernet Sauvignon across the range, including a Blanc de Noirs style. The wines are shaped by Ningxia’s extreme climate, where hot summers and freezing winters require vines to be buried for protection, contributing to concentrated fruit character.
Alongside the Chinese addition, Enotria is also listing New Chapter, a Grüner Veltliner-led project created by Moser in partnership with Austrian grower Markus Huber. The wine blends fruit from top vineyard sites with small additions of Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, aged in old acacia casks.
The additions follow a period of expansion for Enotria, which was acquired by Majestic Wine Group in 2025. It continues to operate as a standalone business.
