Casa Redondo, the Portuguese beverage-alcohol company, has announced the acquisition of Sheridan’s from Diageo.
A dual-chamber liqueur with dark coffee liqueur and whisky on one side and white chocolate on the other, Sheridan’s was first launched in 1992, conceived by the director of research and development for Baileys.
It is now available in more than 50 countries, led by Poland, Germany, Romania, BeLux and the Netherlands, as well as in Global Travel Retail.
The acquisition marks Casa Redondo’s second international brand acquisition, following Safari, a fruit-based liqueur also acquired from Diageo.
The brand said this reflects its ambition to build an increasingly global business and grow strong enduring partnerships with customers and distributors worldwide.
Daniel Redondo, CEO of Casa Redondo, said: “Sheridan’s is a unique brand with strong consumer recognition and a clear identity. Bringing it into our portfolio strengthens our international presence and reflects our ambition to build an increasingly global business.”
Dayalan Nayager, Diageo’s president for Europe and chief commercial officer, added: “The sale of Sheridan’s is another example of our sharp focus on effective portfolio management and maximising shareholder value. It follows previous European transactions including the sales of Pampero, Cacique and Safari as we continue to focus on our core areas of strength to accelerate towards our ambition; to create one of the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer products companies in the world.”
