Coterie Holdings has revealed a completely new group buying team as part of its portfolio and producer strategy.
Led by Andrew Shaw, who will take on the role of group buying director, the business said that the team aims to bring together experts on all major European wine regions, emerging markets, Champagne, spirits and the low & no category.
The team will also include four buying directors, as well as Steve Daniel, who will act as wine development director alongside taking charge of Greece, the Islands and Eastern Europe.
Robert Mathias MW has been named buying director for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône, Alsace, Germany and Austria.
Will Winterton becomes buying director for Champagne, Italy and spirits, and will oversee these areas in the portfolio.
Meanwhile, Joseph Arthur takes on the role of buying director for England, Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence, Loire, South Africa, Australasia, India, China and low & no.
Finally, Suzie Harrison assumes responsibility as buying director for the Americas, Spain and Portugal.
On the new structure, Shaw said: “We have an incredibly talented group of people, with genuine depth of knowledge across both established and emerging wine regions.
“The opportunity now is to bring all that expertise together in a way that gives us a much more joined-up approach to buying across Coterie.
“For our producer partners, that means a buying team that understands their ambitions and can look at opportunities across the group.
“For our customers, it means continuing to build a portfolio that is relevant, exciting, and commercially focused.
“We want to be really clear about what we are looking for, where the gaps are and where we see opportunities — but equally we want to give our buyers the freedom to use their expertise and relationships to find the wines and producers that will make a genuine difference to the portfolio.”
