A UK vineyard guide aimed at consumers is set to launch online on 1 May, designed to make exploring English and Welsh vineyards easier.
Aiming to bring together over 1,100 vineyards from across England and Wales, the digital platform offers a comprehensive overview of the growing sector.
Visitors to the resource can explore vineyards by region, access travel information and browse detailed listings. They can also read editorial guides and begin planning wine-led trips.
Elsewhere, the site features an AI-powered discovery tool created to assist with both planning and experience discovery.
Founded by Ashley Saunders, a member of the WineGB tourism working group and a marketing expert, the website guide comes in response to a previously fragmented wine tourism presence.
Pointing to the WineGB Tourism Report, Saunders said that wine tourism in the UK is expected to increase by 20% over the next five years, marking high consumer demand for information on the growing sector.
On the launch, Saunders said: “This is a significant moment for English and Welsh wine tourism. The industry has grown rapidly, but visitors still struggle to find clear, up‑to‑date information about where to go and what’s available.
“UK Vineyard Guide brings the sector together in one place – supporting producers across every region and helping more people discover the incredible vineyard experiences on their doorstep.”
In support of the platform, British wine writer, Oz Clarke, added: “At last – an idea whose time has come. Yes please: a guide to the vineyards of England and Wales.
“With more than 1,100 vineyards now spread across some of the most beautiful parts of the country, the question has been how to find them, how to reach them and what to expect when you arrive.
“Wine tourism is only just getting going in the UK, but it’s vital to the future of English and Welsh wine – and the UK Vineyard Guide is here to make visiting the vines as easy and as pleasurable as it should be.”
