Connoisseur Estates has added new agencies from Chile and Spain, and has already secured listings for these wines.

The wine importer recently added wines from Bodega Volcanes de Chile to its portfolio, and of these the Reserva Pinot Noir, Tectonia Sauvignon Blanc and flagship Parinacota now have listings with Vagabond Wines.

Ben Gordon, managing director at Bodega Volcanes de Chile, said: “What we have found in the UK is that people have their entry-level Chilean wines and now they need a branded real winery to deal with at the premium side.

“With our wines we look for the utmost in volcanic expression and the wines reflect minerality and they are fresh. These are small production gastronomic wines, priced at the premium end.

“Chile has been pushing the message of diversity for a number of years and I think we are finally seeing the results of that. People are willing to pay more and see there is great value from Chile.”

Connoisseur also added Tinto Figuero from Ribera del Duero, and its wines Tinta Figuero 4, 12 and 15 are all launching in Ocado over the next month.
