Champagne Brimoncourt, a label that has laid dormant since the 1950s, is set to be launched at next month’s Specialist Importers Trade Tasting (SITT) event.

The Champagne house, which is the brainchild of founder Alexandre Cornot, has appointed Richard Kelly MW of Dreyfus Ashby as exclusive agent for the UK. Cornot saw the potential to breathe new life into the dormant Champagne Brimoncourt label

Kelly said: “This is such an interesting story to re-invent a label, dormant since the 1950s. We admire Alexandre’s tenacity in tackling the hurdles and complexities of such a traditional and established market to bring this Champagne House back to life. The quality of the wines is excellent and true to the refreshing, elegant aperitif house style. We also love the contemporary approach to the presentation, which has produced some great, artistically designed packaging. It is an exciting departure from the usual conservative approach to the marketing of Champagne.”

The reinvention of this label started back in 2008. It was backed by a considerable investment, including the conversion of an old printing works.

The wines available to taste at SITT include Champagne Brimoncourt Brut Regence NV (rrp: £35.95), a Blanc de Blancs NV (rrp: £44.95), Extra Brut NV (rrp: £51.95) and Brut Rose NV (rrp: 41.95).
