Chablis will be the backdrop for a new Netflix film about growing up in the wine industry.

Uncorked, which is due to be released on Netflix later this week, is described as “a hilarious and touching drama about a father and son, who finally have to listen to one another”.

The film, which will be released on March 27, is likely to see a higher level of audience engagement now that people are confined to their homes around the world as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Uncorked features Domaine Long-Depaquit, property of Albert Bichot. The estate is based in Chablis, the French wine district in the North of Burgundy. The shooting of the movie took place on the estate, which spans 65 hectares.

The film can be viewed on Netflix from March 27 however, Swirl Wine Group and Sarah Abbott MW is hosting a “virtual viewing party” and “group chat via Netflix” party of Uncorked at 8pm (GMT) on March 27, for those that want to watch it with others.

The group said: “The world is in lockdown – but that’s no reason we can’t get together, share a glass of wine and a movie.

“What could be better than a party with all your favourite wine chums, wine you don’t have to share, a great movie – AND you don’t have to leave the house?!
