Caroline Thompson-Hill is to take up the position of head of beer, wine and spirits at Marks & Spencer.

The former managing director for Europe at Accolade Wines announced her resignation from the company in November 2023, to “pursue an opportunity in the UK retail sector”.

Thompson-Hill, who spent four years at Accolade, has also held positions at Treasury Wine Estates and Diageo.

She will assume her new role in mid-March.

The appointment follows the departure of Andrew Shaw, who was head of trading for drinks, and head of BWS transformation at M&S. Shaw announced his exit last Autumn and he will take up his new position as wine director at Coterie Holdings on March 1.
