Cachet Wine has announced the wines of top Jura artisan wine estate, Frédéric Lambert, are now available in the UK.
Founded in 1994 with just one hectare of vines, Frédéric Lambert expanded his estate to 10 hectares spread between seven distinctive plots and terroirs in the prestigious Côtes du Jura and L’Étoile AOCs. His winemaking philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for the clay-limestone soils found in the rolling and isolated hill sites around the tiny village of Toulouse-le-Chateau, an hour drive from Beaune.
The portfolio of wines available from the estate showcases the Jura’s diversity, featuring the region’s five emblematic grape varieties: Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir. Whilst some of the wines are fully oxidative, others use the ouillé (topped-up) process to make elegant, floral and precise dry whites from both Savagnin and Chardonnay. The Domaine employs sustainable viticultural practices and hand-harvesting to ensure every bottle reflects the minerality, precision, purity and distinctive character of the land.
Frédéric Lambert said: “The Jura is a land of paradox – rugged yet refined. Our goal is to capture that tension. Whether it is the ethereal lightness of our Trousseau or the powerful complexity of our Vin Jaune, we want the drinker to feel the cool breeze of the Jura mountains and the richness of our ancient soils.”
David Archibald of Cachet Wine said: “The wines of Frédéric Lambert are a wonderful addition to the expanding range at Cachet Wine and show our commitment to great winemaking that highlights the terroir and the people who make such wines so very special.”
