British brandy producer Burnt Faith has raised around £2 million in investment as owners look to grow the brand on a global scale.
Burnt Faith founder and CEO Simon Wright announced the successful investment drive, with investors including industry veteran Keith Greggor, the first investor in Brewdog in 2009 and former co-owner of Anchor Brewing & Distillery, and PR specialist Matthew Freud.
Commenting on his plans for the brand, Wright said: “I believe the global opportunity within brandy is huge, so I want our ambition and execution to mirror this.
“As we begin to establish ourselves, we are turning toward managing our growth needs both nationally and internationally. That will require further investment in ageing stock and continuing to innovate within a sleepy category.”
Greggor added: “Many people aspire to disrupt the spirits category, but there’s really only been a few game changing players that I’ve seen in the last 40 years. Burnt Faith is certainly proving to be one of them.”
Burnt Faith released its first product, Batch 001, in April 2023, after which brand owners signed a distribution deal with Proof Drinks. In October 2023, the Burnt Faith Brandy House Bar opened in London.
