The Bourgogne Wine Board has elected a new permanent committee, including co-presidents Laurent Delaunay and Michel Barraud.

The duo has been elected for a four-year term, during which time they will jointly lead the development of the sector’s 2035 strategic plan.

Barraud takes over from François Labet, who had been serving as co-president since 2022. Meanwhile, Delaunay, who was already a co-president, retains his role.

Looking to the future, Barraud laid out three strategic pillars of action, while reiterating the need for unity within the body and the Burgundy region.

Firstly, the technical and innovation division will be tasked with supporting the sector as it responds to climate change and harvest losses.

Secondly, the economic and strategic intelligence division will oversee a forward-looking market study designed to inform future decision-making.

Finally, the marketing and communication division will also remain a priority, ensuring continued connection with consumers and growth in wine tourism.

Barraud also added that carbon neutrality, which forms the foundation of the 2035 plan, will be a major focus.

Elsewhere in the permanent committee, Marianne Vilain was named treasurer, while Jean Soubeyrand was appointed general secretary.

Other active members include Bruno Verret, Francine Picard, Jérôme Chevalier and Florent Latour.
