Investment firm Breal Group has added Warwickshire-based Purity Brewing Co to its growing portfolio of breweries.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, was completed on December 22. The move follows the purchases of Yorkshire-based Black Sheep Brewery as well as London’s Brick Brewery and Brew By Numbers.
Breal said Purity had been a target since early 2023.
John Hunt, managing director at Purity, said: “We all know the brewing industry has had a turbulent time of late, and like many others, the business has certainly felt the pressure of rising costs. However, we’re incredibly pleased Breal recognises the value and uniqueness of our offering and had the vision to invest in securing the future of the brewery.”
Purity was established in 2005 and its beers include Mad Goose IPA, Longhorn IPA and Lawless Lager. The brewer is currently seeking B-Corp status.
