Bibendum has doubled the size of its management board after growing turnover and profits in its latest financial results.

Marketing director Fiona Cochran, operations director Bob Smyllie and supply director Kirstie Papworth join managing director Michael Saunders, finance director James Kowszun and off-trade director Richard Cochrane on the board.

Saunders said: “All three new board members have been promoted internally following several years of delivering outstanding results in their areas of the business. I would like to congratulate them on their appointment and look forward to working with them as we target an even better performance over the next few years.”

Bibendum’s most recent results, for 2010-11, saw turnover grow by 22% to £176.9 million, with a 33% rise in profitability.

Major projects under the new board’s supervision include a learning and development programme for employees, social and corporate responsibility initiatives and developing a new market insights division. 

The agency has recently added to its portfolio Château St Cosme from Gigondas, Barolo producer Vietti, Spee’Wah from Australia’s Murray Darling region and several artisan Chilean producers including Derek Mossman Knapp’s Garage Wine Company in Maule, Flaherty Wines in Aconcagua and Rukumilla in Maipo.
