Bibendum has announced the addition of two sparkling wine producers to its portfolio: Domaine Alexandre Bonnet and Fidora.
The distributor said that four sparkling wines from each producer will be available to the UK on-trade through Bibendum, and to independent merchants through sister brand Walker & Wodehouse.
Domaine Alexandre Bonnet is a Champagne estate in the village of Les Riceys in the Côte des Bar, an hour from Burgundy.
The proximity brings a Burgundian influence to the estate’s Champagne production, resulting in a Pinot Noir-driven style, said Bibendum.
The wines coming to the UK include Domaine Alexandre Bonnet Brut NV, Domaine Alexandre Bonnet Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut NV, Domaine Alexandre Bonnet Rosé Extra Brut NV and Domaine Alexandre Bonnet Rosé des Riceys 2021.
Meanwhile, Fidora is one of Italy’s longest-established organic estates, having embraced organic viticulture since 1974.
It is presently run by fourth-generation winemaker Emilio Fidora, who is working towards fully biodynamic certification.
The wines include Fidora Biodynamic Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOCG, Fidora Biodynamic Prosecco Brut DOC, Fidora Biodynamic Prosecco Rosé DOC and Fidora Biodynamic Col Fondo Prosecco DOC.
Andy Craig, wine buyer for Champagne at Bibendum, said: “Domaine Alexandre Bonnet add real authenticity to Bibendum’s Champagne portfolio. They’re expressive and vinous, with a clear sense of place, while offering outstanding value for their quality. Domaine Alexandre Bonnet is a grower Champagne that offers our customers genuine differentiation on the list.”
Lizzy Unite, senior wine buyer for Italy, added: “In a category as crowded as Prosecco, genuine distinction can feel rare: it’s a must have on a list but often lacks the magic. Fidora not only offers outstanding value, they also bring back the sparkle, reminding us just how soulful, terroir‑driven and craft‑led Prosecco can be.”
