The singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has bought out the stake held by LVMH in its SirDavis whiskey brand to become its sole owner.

The US whiskey was launched as a joint venture between the superstar artist and LVMH in 2024 and is listed by numerous leading drinks retailers in the UK, including The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt and Drinks Supermarket.

Reuters reported that LVMH had confirmed earlier reports that a deal had been struck given the singer outright ownership of the brand, but that it had declined to give further details.

SirDavis was named after Davis Hogue, Knowles-Carter’s paternal grandfather, a farmer and illicit moonshine producer at the time of Prohibition.

The whiskey has a mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley and was created by master distiller Bill Lumsden, who said at the time of its launch that it had “looked to challenge the category norms and offer something new in the space”.
