Wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros & Rudd will open its new spirits shop next week as the retailer looks to expand its premium spirits offering.

Citing a growing consumer interest in spirits, the Berry Bros & Rudd team reported +42% revenue growth in spirits year on year, with particularly strong sales across sake, Bourbon and whisky, as well as increased bottle spend across categories.

With around 1,000 products available to consumers, the spirits shop looks to build on this success. It is situated next to the retailer’s existing wine shop on St James’s Street in London.

Berry Bros & Rudd has also collaborated with Bowmore distillery to create an exclusive bottling – the 1997 Bowmore Single Malt – in commemoration of the shop opening. Only 100 numbered bottles will be available for purchase.

Geordie Willis, brand experiences & creative director at Berry Bros & Rudd, said the shop represents “the latest iteration of our centuries-long commitment to curating the finest and rarest selection of spirits”.

Willis continued: “The growth in premium spirits shows that our customers have a huge appetite for beautiful and rare liquids and the selection has been carefully curated, to offer a truly exceptional range and experience at the spirits shop.

“The space has been carefully restored; the interior will use reclaimed oak barrel staves from old whisky casks alongside a beautiful solid elm tasting table.”
