Berry Bros. & Rudd has announced its launch into the US market after 327 years of business in the UK.
Today (4 November), the retailer has opened a new retail store in Washington and a US-dedicated website, alongside a private client team to provide personal and expert advice to US consumers.
Located in Farragut Square, the new store draws inspiration from the business’s home in St James’s, London. It is said to blend British heritage with a contemporary Washington D.C. aesthetic.
Berry Bros. & Rudd has said that the move into the US marks a significant international growth strategy and an ambition to connect with new audiences.
It continued that the dedicated US website and store will offer wines and spirits from some of the most celebrated producers around the world.
Over the coming months, the merchant will host a series of events and experiences and collaborate with a range of luxury US lifestyle brands.
Jamie Ritchie, MD of international & auctions at Berry Bros. & Rudd said: “We are excited to be opening Berry Bros. & Rudd in the United States, beginning in Washington D.C., a city with a vibrant wine and spirits culture and a thriving gastronomic scene. We look forward to sharing our trusted expertise, personalised service and British heritage with audiences across the US, and to building lasting relationships with new clients.”
Emma Fox, CEO at Berry Bros. & Rudd, added: “Opening our business in the United States marks an exciting new chapter in Berry Bros. & Rudd’s 327-year history. American customers have always shown a strong appreciation for luxury British brands and true craftsmanship, and the Berry Bros. & Rudd name embodies both.”
