Buyers at the SITT tasting in Manchester will be serenaded by an opera singer and fed with Italian food as The Bottle Drinks Company launches Bellini Canella.

The 5% abv drink is a premium RTD blend of Prosecco and fresh peach juice and retails at £3.50 for a 20cl bottle and £10.99 for a 75cl bottle.

Director Bob Ratcliffe discovered the drink at the VinItaly wine fair and took on exclusive UK distribution, and now he wants to bring a taste of la dolce vita to Manchester.

He will be joined at the stand by the brand’s export manager Fabio Lunardi, who will also be hosting The Bellini Sunset Tour on Monday, February 22, at the Lancashire County Cricket Club after the tasting.

Ratcliffe is targeting independent retailers with the drink and said he has run successful trials in a few stores across the UK.

He told OLN: “An obvious target is the Prosecco consumer, but the work we have done so far has shown it’s pretty universally liked. It’s surprised me that it’s not just women or a young audience. It’s been well-received by everyone.

“I visited VinItaly and came across it and it tasted lovely and I just thought it’s right for the UK market. It has Prosecco, which is doing really well, and lovely peaches grown by the producer. It seemed to tick all the bvoxes.

“Ahead of spring, it is the perfect opportunity to stock it.”

Bellini Canella is composed of two parts Prosecco and one part fresh white peach juice grown on the family farm near Venice, with and a few drops of wild raspberry to give it the colouring of a classic Bellini, inspired by the artist who used that classic colouring in his paintings.

Ratcliffe said: “It has no added sugar, colouring or preservatives, nothing artificial, and when you taste it it’s so fresh and natural.”
