Barefoot Wine & Bubbly is introducing a pink Pinot Grigio as part of a plan to drive value back into the rose category.
The fast growing wine brand said it has “proven success” for both its Pinot Grigio and rosé varietals. Last year sales were up for Barefoot’s Pinot Grigio (+28%), Pink Moscato (+35%) and Bubbly Pink Moscato (+15%), according to Nielsen data (year to 13/08/16).
The new Barefoot Pink Pinot Grigio (11% abv) has a crisp and fruity style, full of tart apple, peach and raspberry flavours. The producer said it is a drier styled rosé but with the fruit forward flavour that is consistent with the Barefoot brand.

The newcomer (rsp: £6.99) joins recent new additions to the UK portfolio, including Barefoot’s Californian Malbec and Barefoot Chardonnay.
