British vermouth, amaro and fernet brand, Asterley Bros, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £100,000.

The London-based spirits company, which was founded in 2014 by Rob and Jim Berry, released its first product – Dispense Amaro – in early 2017.

The range has since grown to include Estate Vermouth and Britannica Fernet. The team will be launching its fourth product – Schofield’s Dry Vermouth in October 2019, which will use English wines and grape spirit as a base, combined with 28 “intriguing” boranicals. The product is being created in collaboration with bartender and the brand’s creative director, Joe Schofield.

The £100,000 funding will be used to upgrade facilities and increase production capacity, as well as supporting the development of new products.

The company is currently valued at £1 million and products are available in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Its five-year plan forecasts 750,000 unit sales and £12 million total sales revenues over the period and the company also has plans to expand into 20 further export markets.

Founder Rob Berry said: “We have been overwhelmed by the level of interest in our handmade amaro, vermouth and fernet over the last few years. The aperitif category is undergoing a renaissance, fuelled by the UK consumers’ desires for all things negroni and spritz, so this is the perfect time for us to expand our production and offering.”

The Crowdcube fundraising campaign launches today and ends October 8th, 2019.
