Asda has added to its Argentinian range of wines with a new Malbec Syrah 2018, priced at £10 a bottle.

Vinalba Finca La 66 is made from grapes grown in Patagonia in the Rio Negro region. The wine reflects the area’s high altitudes and cooler climate, and it is described as having rich aromas of black cherries, mint and spices, dark fruit flavours and smooth tannins.

Vinalba is a range of Argentinian wines produced by Bodegas Fabre in Mendoza and Patagonia. The wines are distributed in the UK by Buckingham Schenk.

Craig Durham, chief executive at Buckingham Schenk said: “We are truly excited to introduce this exclusive new wine from an award-winning winemaker to the Viñalba Patagonia portfolio. This Malbec Syrah offers our customers a premium wine at astonishing value.”

The new wine is 80% Malbec and 20% Syrah. A total of 60% of the wine is aged in French oak for 12 months.
