Asahi has launched Super Sales, a platform created for convenience retailers to track off-trade beer trends.

Aimed at retailers wanting to grow their beer sales, the website includes information about market trends, data-led advice and planograms, which give guidance on product shelf placement.

Additionally, Asahi has created a checklist that retailers can use to monitor the top 15 SKUs in convenience beer sales. The brewer said it is committed to impartiality in this area and noted that 11 of these 15 beers are not Asahi products.

The site splits its insights between three growth areas: premium lager, which saw sales increase by 5.4% in the 52 weeks to 26 July; no & low beer, which saw 20.4% growth in the same period; and mid-packs, which were up by 2%.

Launching in proximity to Christmas, the website also has a section for the latest trends, which currently offers retailers advice on making the most of seasonal opportunities.

On the launch, Faye Brown, category manager of off-trade at Asahi UK, said: “Premium lager is the fastest-growing price segment in the market, but is still an area that is often under-represented in stores.

“At Asahi UK, all our key brands are in the premium segment, so we are well-placed to support retailers with authoritative market insights and ranging suggestions that can help them drive further growth into the beer category.”
