Armit Wines has welcomed a new Burgundian producer to its portfolio.
Domaine Capuano-Ferreri, based in Santenay, is headed up by John Capuano who represents the second generation of the family estate, having taken over from his father in 2009.
The range includes a 2023 Santenay Vielles Vignes Blanc; a 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Cuvée Prestige Blanc; 2023 Santenay Vielles Vignes Rouge; 2024 Manages Premier Cru La Fussiere Rouge; and 2022 Santenay Premier Cru La Comme Rouge.
Capuano-Ferreri was founded in 1987 by Gino Capuano, in collaboration with ex-footballer, Jean Marc Ferreri. The producer focuses on manual harvesting, traditional vinification, and ageing in French oak barrels, all with the aim of showcasing terroir.
Armit is also presenting a boutique project located in Lapio, Avellion, where all three DEOCGs of Campania overlap (Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, and Taurasi). Raffaele Pagano, owner and founder, comes from a long-standing family of viticulturalists. Since 2009, Raffale has been working on reviving winemaking on Capri island, where he now produces a white blend from local grape varieties, and an extremely rare rosato, made from 100% Piedirosso.
And later in the year (September) Armit will release the 2020 vintage of Rockford Estate’s iconic Basket Press Shiraz, grown from dry-grown vines aged between 60 and 140 years’ old, in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Basket Press has earned cult status among collectors and wine lovers, both in Australia and globally.
