Beasties bump up sales for Inverarity
Glasgow wine merchant Inverarity One to One is reporting encouraging sales of its own-label Timorous Beasties wines, featuring labels conceived in the city by the design house of the same name.
The wines are sourced from southern France and feature distinctive silhouettes
on the labels. The range of what director Ross Buchanan describes as "kitchen table wines" includes Cabernet/Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc at £5.99 and Chardonnay and Syrah at £6.99.
The idea for an own-label range predates the opening of the shop last December - the project began while Inverarity was
an importer and wholesaler. But the Timorous Beasties range is being restricted to the retail arm .
"We saw one of their designs and thought it would be a great idea for a wine label," said Buchanan. "We
got to know them and came up with an idea for our own range . We threw some ideas about and came up with the silhouette.
"We wanted something that would be exclusive to us and we're chuffed to bits with the results. "
