Illegal vodka still found in Bristol

An illegal vodka still has been found by a fire crew investigating a blaze at a shed in Bristol.

Thirty barrels of alcohol, as well as bottling equipment, were found at the site when firefighters arrived.

The plant is thought to have been producing counterfeit Chekov and Chudnoff vodka, which were bottled with forged duty stamps on the packaging.

Police have warned retailers and the public to be on the alert for “unusually cheap” vodka and believe the spirits produced at the illicit still are likely to be harmful.
