Sheps sees profits soar by 25%
Kent-based brewer Shepherd Neame has reported a 25% leap in operating profit before exceptional items to £11.9 million.
Pre-tax profit grew at a similar level in the year to June 26, to stand at £8.7 million on turnover of £115.4 million.
Total beer volume sales through the company were up 4.8% and sales of its own beer brands were ahead by 3.8%.
The brewer reported a strong performance from Spitfire, Bishop’s Finger and Asahi.
Chairman Miles Templeman said: “This has been a hugely successful year for Shepherd Neame.
“We have achieved record turnover, record beer volume and strong net cashflow against a background of a weak UK economy and challenges facing our industry.”
