Whisky Shop goes digital
The Whisky Shop is planning a UK-wide TV ad campaign next Christmas following the success of its Scottish campaign this year.
The spirits specialist ran a terrestrial TV ad in Scotland for one month over Christmas, principally aimed at generating extra online sales.
“Web sales experienced a massive increase in Scotland,” said chain owner Ian Bankier.
“Our business is still weighted there at Christmas time and it had a huge?hit in terms of our sales there. It was successful and we are looking at doing the same again next year, or something similar in terms of a big marketing thrust at Christmas.”?Bankier said the business could not afford a UK-wide terrestrial campaign, but that a digital TV campaign, which would cost around the same as the terrestrial campaign in Scotland, was among the options he was considering.
