Shepherd Neame bottles its New Dawn Citrus IPA following on-trade success

Shepherd Neame’s, New Dawn Citrus IPA, which was released in the on-trade last year, is now available in bottle format.

The beer was created last May for Cask Club, the brewer’s contemporary cask ale initiative, which saw a new brew released each month. It is brewed with Mandarina hops sourced from the Hallertau region of Germany and it also has dried sweet orange zest added during the brewing process.

The 5% abv New Dawn Citrus IPA is now available in 50cl bottles from Shepherd Neame’s online shop and from Tesco stores nationwide.

Account manager, Amanda Beer, said: “With its exciting flavour profile and vibrant look, New Dawn achieved an outstanding national on-trade reach throughout May last year. This success enabled us to present the brand to Tesco, and we are delighted to announce that it has just been listed in 241 Tesco stores nationwide. It is a fantastic beer and we are delighted to make it a permanent part of our range.”

The beer is straw-coloured and it is described as having “a mellow smooth bitterness with hints of orange” and a “refreshingly citrus hit” from the hops and orange zest.

The brewer said it offers a “sweet, slightly drying palate, and is ideally served lightly chilled”.
