WSET reveals series of online events designed to raise fund for The Drinks Trust

The Wine and Spirit Education Trust is launching a series of online events, which it hopes will help to raise much-needed funds for The Drinks Trust.

The events, which are accessible via Zoom, will include a weekly drinks-themed quiz – hosted by school principle Richard Harding and supported by WSET educators – and a selection of Tuesday evening webinars.

Those interested can sign up for free but WSET has asked that if people have the means to make a donation to The Drinks Trust, they would be very grateful.

Harding said: “The Drinks Trust is a wonderful charity who provide support and advice to members of the drinks industry – their work has never been more vital and every little helps.”

The wine education provider has also release a few more online WSET courses starting later in April.

Harding said: “Through these strange times of social distancing, we have loved the sense of community we have shared with our growing numbers of online students. It has been wonderful connecting with so many people from all over the world who have chosen to study with us during this time.”

The next events in the diary include Variety in Focus: Pinot Noir by Julia Lambeth, which is the next in its Tuesday wine webinar events (on April 14 at 6pm).

After this there is Discover Prosecco with Neil Phillips, The Wine Tipster (April 21, 6pm) and then Variety in focus: Chardonnay (April 28, 6pm) by Lydia Harrison MW.

The Tasting Room Quiz events will take place every Thursday at 8.15pm.
