Halewood Wines & Spirits adds price-marked packs for JJ Whitley range

Halewood Wines & Spirits has added new price marked packs (PMPs) to its J Whitley white spirits range, as it continues to work on driving growth in the convenience channel.

Impulse sales of the range performed strongly in 2019, with J.J Whitley Pink Cherry Gin and Raspberry Vodka variants proving best-sellers among consumers demanding pink gins and flavoured spirits, according to the company.

The new JJ Whitley 70cl PMPs feature a £15.99 price point across a range of seven flavoured vodkas and gins, which in addition to the Pink Cherry Gin and Raspberry Vodka, includes Strawberry Gin, Violet Gin, Blood Orange Gin, Rhubarb Vodka and Vanilla Vodka.

A £13.99 PMP will feature on the J.J Whitley 70cl Artisanal Vodka. All of the PMP spirits in the range are 38% ABV.

James Stocker, Marketing Director at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “As well as flavour innovation this year, we’ll see trends including simple twists on highball serves and best-value drive growth in impulse sales of white spirits in 2020.

“Consumers want to be more adventurous with their at-home cocktails. However, many want this without loads of mixing hassle and expense. The J.J Whitley PMPs and exciting range of on-trend flavours enables convenience stores to meet this demand.”

The J.J Whitley Strawberry Gin can be used to easily enhance the great taste of a traditional G&T, while the Vanilla Vodka adds a new taste to the classic mixers of cola, lemonade or tonic. It can also be used to easily create a Pornstar Martini – one of the UK’s most popular cocktail serves.

Stocker said: “From the intricate design of the labelling to the embossed glass detail, the J.J Whitley bottles stand-out on shelf to help convenience shoppers easily find an artisanal spirit. Combining this with the PMPs will further boost the range’s appeal and drive purchasing among shoppers who want great flavours at great prices.”

Blood Orange revamp

The producer also recently refreshed the design for its Whitley Neill Blood Orange Ginto better align it with the "eye-catching" colours of the full range. The bottle will now be made of orange glass.
