Craft Beer Rising founders launch BrewLDN

The founders of Craft Beer Rising are launching a new beer festival called BrewLDN in February 2020.

The three-day event will incorporate two trade sessions and four consumer sessions, each hosting up to 200 exhibitors. The organisers expect to welcome 8,000 consumers and up to 4,000 trade guests across the three days.

The event has been organised by Daniel Rowntree and Chris Bayliss, who set up Craft Beer Rising (CBR).

CBR was originally set up in 2013 as part of a specialist drinks marketing agency the pair set up in 2005 called Elastic. The agency was sold to Matthew Clark in 2017, which was subsequently bought by Conviviality, which then went into administration. As a result CBR is now owned by C&C Group.

Rowntree said: “Over the past 12 months I have been doing my research and I have been to: Indyman Beer Con, All the We Are Beer events (excusing Edinburgh), SIBA X, GBBF 2019 (Live Beer Ex) and the mighty Craft Beer Conference in Denver, Colorado. I have taken something from every single one, but am also pretty proud of the unique model we championed as Craft Beer Rising. In my opinion we created, over time, the best beer trade session in the UK, and we want to continue with that, in fact double down and make that better, enabling trading to happen before, during and post event, helping beer buyers meet their needs more intuitively, and brewers fill capacity and grow sustainably.”

Rowntree said attendees can expect a similar set up to CBR as the duo have secured the Truman Brewery on London’s Brick Lane for the event.

He said: “We want to champion every corner of the industry, while keeping on top of innovation and what’s coming next not just the latest beer style, but unique brewing techniques, new technology and new ingredients.”
