Lodovico Antinori adds rosé to portfolio

Marchese Lodovico Antinori has added a rosé to his portfolio of wines at Alta Maremma estate.

The rosé, Sof, was inspired by Antinori’s 21 year-old daughter Sophia.

The 49-hectare estate in Bibbona – Tenuta di Biserno – is now in its 14th year of production. The estate, which borders Bolgheri, produces Super Tuscan wines: ‘Lodovico’, ‘Biserno’ and ‘Il Pino di Biserno’, made from Bordeaux varietals, with a particular focus on Cabernet Franc.

The Campo di Sasso vineyards are nearby and this provides grapes for the ‘easier-drinking’ style of Insoglio di Cinghiale, and now Sof Rosé (rsp: £24.50).

The blend for Sof Rosé Tenuta Di Biserno 2017 IGP is 50:50 Cabernet Franc and Syrah, and the blend was created by winemaker, Helena Linberg, and consultant winemaker, Michel Rolland.
