Tortuga expands spirits line-up

Spirits agency company Tortuga Brands has added four new brands to its portfolio and set up a division offering low-cost distribution to producers who already handle their own sales and marketing.

The new agency additions include London-based Half Hitch gin and the rose petal liqueur Lanique.

Tortuga has also added Vreimuth vermouth and the blueberry liqueur brand Mirtillo from the Austrian distiller Freihof.

They join a portfolio that includes Dark Matter spiced rum, Lambay Irish whiskey and Raven Rare blended Scotch.

The new division is Tortuga Logistics which, said managing director Gary Hazell, would allow brand owners who have their own sales and marketing functions to consolidate orders, reduce minimum order requirements and cut down on administration.

“Tortuga Logistics will help brands get to market while the original Tortuga Brands business will continue to help incubate and grow super-premium brands,” he said.

Tortuga Brands was set up by Hazell and Peter Davie earlier this year.
