Badet Clement reports sharp increase in UK sales for 2017

Badet Clement has announced a 25% increase in turnover for its UK sales, while it’s global turnover also grew last year.

The specialists in branded and estate wines from the Languedoc, Burgundy, the Rhone Valley and Provence said it had recorded “a sharp increase” in its financial results for 2017.

Global turnover grew 12.5% to E49.5 million and in the UK turnover increased 25% to E2.8 million.

The UK growth has been attributed to Badet Clement’s flagship brand, Les Jamelles, as well as a raft of new releases in both branded and estate wines, all of which performed strongly.

The company said the Abbotts & Delaunay Collection – a range of high-end wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region – took off considerably during the last year.

Its estate wines also continued to show steady growth, with an increase in turnover of 5.2%, despite the scarcity of resources in Burgundy.

Laurent Delaunay, president and founder, said: “We are extremely pleased with our performance in 2017. Especially as this strong growth and consolidation of our fundamental activities in 2017 enables us to look ahead to the future and continued success, with confidence and optimism.”

The company noted that 2018 is already following the same growth trajectory as it did in 2017, with a 22% increase in sales already recorded in the first half of this year.
