Berry Bros adds to its South African line up

22 May, 2018

Berry Bros & Rudd and Fields, Morris & Verdin (FMV) has added two new agencies to its producer portfolio.

Scions of Sinai and Storm Wines will now join the list of South African producers available through the wine and spirit merchant.

Scions of Sinai was founded by Bernhard Bredell in 2016, and it is located in Stellenbosch’s Lower Helderberg region. Bredell focuses on using natural methods and minimalist intervention in the cellar.

Storm Wines, in the Hemel-En-Aarde Valley, has a similar dedicated to purity. Hannes Storm, owner, said: “Small production, careful viticulture, minimal intervention in the cellar and a constant nod to the Old World present the wines with distinctive personality and character.”

Katherine Dart MW, wine buyer for South African wine at Berry Bros & Rudd, said: “The wines produced by Hannes Storm and Bernie Bredell at Scions of Sinai evoke real excitement for us, they possess concentration and elegance whilst embodying a clear sense of place. We believe they add another dimension to our South African Portfolio, further enhancing the quality of the wines we are able to offer our customers.”

The wines are available now and will available to taste at the Berry Bros & Rudd and FMV South African Tasting on October 17, 2018.

Wines from Scions of Sinai include a Chenin Blanc Syrah, Pinotage and a Cinsault, Pinotage blend, among others; while from Storm Wines there is a Chardonnay Vrede, Pinot Noir Vrede, Pinot Noir Ignis and Pinot Noir Ridge.
