Flint Wines takes on wines from British Columbia

15 May, 2018

Fine wine specialist importer Flint Wines has been appointed the exclusive agent for Canadian wineries Le Vieux Pin and La Stella.

The producers are located in the Okanagan valley, famous for its unique desert micro-climate in British Columbia.

Le Vieux Pin takes its name from a solitary majestic old growth pine situated in the vineyards on Black Sage Bench. The first vintage was released in 2005 and the wines have always been influenced by the traditional French winemaking along with the New World character distinct to the region.

Its sister winery, La Stella, located in Osoyoos Lake, draws its inspiration from the traditions of winemaking in Italy and uses organic and sustainable farming methods since its doors opened in 2007. The wines are named after Italian musical notes such as Allegretto, Vivace and Maestoso.

Buying director, Jason Haynes, said: “Now it feels like the right time to push the Canadian button. This is an exciting move for Flint and we are very proud to start this adventure with Le Vieux Pin and La Stella. The Okanagan Valley has become a popular destination for wine and those will fit perfectly in our burgeoning portfolio.”
