Harrods reveals new Fine Wine and Spirits Rooms

19 April, 2018

Harrods has opened its new Fine Wines and Spirits Rooms.

The dedicated area includes premium top-tier alcohol as well as rarer and smaller batch brands, and the space itself is divided into a wine room, a Champagne room and a spirit room with a specific whisky section. The retailer is also now offering services such as bottle personalisation and personal consultants for fine wine collectors.

The space itself has been designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and it has been inspired by the golden days of the 1920s. It has a marble patterned floor, oak timber wall panelling and various nods to art deco.

Alex Dower, director of food and restaurants for Harrods, said the Fine Wines and Spirits Rooms aim to set Harrods apart from any other retailer in the world. He noted the space would “break down barriers and change perceptions on the world of wine and spirits”, specifically by focusing on the flavour profile of each drink, rather than specific categories.
